HotPot Friends is an original IP character branding project that blends fantasy storytelling with cultural inspiration from hot pot ingredients. Each character represents unique personality traits such as leadership, creativity, and harmony, living in a vibrant world called HotPot Heaven.

This project embodies core values of creativity, community, and emotional warmth — designed to connect deeply with audiences who appreciate imaginative stories and cultural heritage.

BRAND STORY & WORLDBUILDING

HotPot Heaven is a vibrant, celestial realm where five ingredient-spirits — Springie, Garry, Pika, Noki, and Choyce — live and collaborate to protect the magical Great Cauldron at the world’s center. Each character represents an emotional trait and a food element, blending personality, power, and flavor into one.

From the Mistwood Grove to the Verdant Nexus, the world reflects both fantasy and culinary symbolism, encouraging connection and storytelling.

Character Concept

Each ingredient is reimagined as a unique personality — bold, shy, spicy, or sweet. These characters bring emotional layers to the dining experience, turning hotpot into a visual story of friendship and flavor.

  • 🟢 Springie — The Energetic Leader

    💫 “Growth begins with a single sprout.”

    Inspiration: Spring onion

    Traits: Optimistic, Caring, Vital

    Visual Style: Bright greens, floral magic, Verdant Crown of Wisdom

    🌱 Springie is the heart of the group — always uplifting, always growing. With boundless energy and healing vibes, he keeps the team rooted in harmony. He’s a natural leader, though the pressure sometimes gets to him (don’t tell the others).

  • 🧄 Garry — The Adventurous Warrior

    🔥 “Fear is just a flavor to conquer.”

    Inspiration: Garlic

    Traits: Brave, Loyal, Bold

    Visual Style: Earthy tones, rugged textures, Garlic Blade

    Strong, fiery, and loyal to the end — Garry charges forward with fierce passion. He’s always ready to protect his friends and never backs down from a challenge. If courage had a smell, it’d be garlic.

  • 🧊 Pika — The Wise Strategist

    🌀 “Patience grows wisdom.”

    Inspiration: Mushroom

    Traits: Intelligent, Calm, Observant

    Visual Style: Deep browns, soft grays, delicate fungal motifs

    Quiet and grounded, Pika thinks before she leaps. She observes everything, speaks only when it matters, and always has the answer when no one else does. The team's mushroom-shaped compass.

  • 🥬 Choyce — The Creative Innovator

    ✨ “Why settle for ordinary?”

    Inspiration: Bok choy

    Traits: Imaginative, Optimistic, Eager

    Visual Style: Vibrant greens, crisp whites, leafy textures

    Fresh ideas? Choyce has plenty. She’s bold, bubbly, and loves to remix the recipe — literally and creatively. Always up for a new adventure (or a redesign of the menu).

  • 🍄 Noki — The Peaceful Mediator

    Inspiration: Tofu

    Traits: Gentle, Harmonious, Friendly

    Visual Style: Soft whites, creamy neutrals, tofu-inspired textures

    Noki brings calm where there’s chaos. Soft-spoken but deeply wise, he helps the team blend together — just like tofu soaks in every flavor and holds it close. He’s the glue of the pot.
